We are pleased to provide you with a full disclosure of our  Service Charges.  To help you understand Funeral Costs we have prepared an outline of the categories that make up a funeral account. There are basically three sections that make up the total funeral account: 1)  Professional Services,  2) Casket and Merchandise Selections, and 3) Cash Advance Items.

 

 

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR AND STAFF

Our basic services include conducting the arrangements conference, planning the funeral, consulting with family and clergy, shelter of remains, preparing and filing of necessary notices, obtaining necessary authorizations and permits, and coordinating with the cemetery, crematory or other third parties .In addition,this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs.  This fee is  added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements families select.

This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving remains.

 

CASKET and  MERCHANDISE SELECTIONS

All of our caskets are priced separately.  The price listed for the casket is for the casket itself, with no other items included. Lakeshore Memorial Services makes no representations or warranties regarding the caskets listed. The warranties are extended by the manufacturer.  Most cemeteries also require that you purchase a container to surround the casket in the grave.  Lakeshore Memorial Services makes no representations or warranties regarding the Outer Burial Containers.  Again, the warranties are extended by the manufacturer.

All of our other merchandise is also priced separately.  cremation urns, register books, memorial folders, thank you notes and memory DVDs can all be purchased separately. As always, you are free to purchase or acquire these items from any other source.

 

 CASH ADVANCE ITEMS

To aid the families we serve, we will cover third party expenses and place them on our account. We will list these items on the Statement of Goods and Services and they will be payable in full.  This is an optional service we offer as a convenience to families.  

Typical cash disbursements might include:

  • Newspaper Obituaries
  • Honorariums to clergy, musicians, custodians, lunch servers, sound system, taps trumpeter...
  • Cemetery Charges (opening, closing, vault installation, graveside equipment, city fees)
  • Flowers
  • Grave Markers or date of death engravings
  • Certified copies of death certificates
  • Medical Examiner fee
  • Hairdresser
